The Wait

As far as I know, my power is still out. I haven’t been home since shortly after lunch. I’m currently at some friends’ house who invited several of the group over since they have power and, more importantly, A/C. Bless them, also, for arranging for dinner, which we’re getting ready to have.

I’m assuming my power is still out because another friend who lives very close to me went home and called back to say it was still off. Granted, I happen to know for a fact he’s on a completely different grid than I am, in spite of the proximity, but I’m not holding my breath.

Interesting realization that I believe today has seen the highest number of different places I’ve blogged from in one day!

I was at my office much of the afternoon. As I was leaving, I took a side road to avoid the intersection that doesn’t have a working traffic light. That road passes by two houses my office owns and rents out to people. One of them had a tree fall on it during the storm. The carport area is completely smashed. The living area can be entered, but the walls and ceiling are cracked up. For all intents and purposes, the house is destroyed. I’m glad no one was in it at the time.
