Now More Reachable Than Ever
I finally did it. I made the switch from Verizon Wireless to T-Mobile. All of my neighbors suggested the move because, around our houses, T-Mobile gets reliable service. Verizon (and pretty much all others) do not. It appears they were right. I went with the free Samsung E105 which appears to be a very nice phone. I was very limited in options because I’m not allowed to have a camera phone at the Navy facility where I work. The phone sounds good, gets excellent reception, and is generally pretty easy to use. And, because T-Mobile allowed me to carry over my phone numbers, I don’t even have to notify all my friends and family. Maybe I won’t need that Vonage line after all!

See why I kept pooh-poohing Jeff’s ideas about me choosing a VoIP provider? AT&T’s coverage in Florida is, as you know, outstanding. It’ll only improve as the AT&T/Cingular merger finalizes. I’ve already got a pretty decent calling plan which costs far less than the plan I used to have combined with my land line which is now nonexistent. Who knows, I may come up with an even better plan some months from now that Cingular offers. I just find it kind of ironic that I ran away from Bellsouth Mobility to AT&T because Bellsouth Mobility sucked. Then, they became Cingular and, before the merger announcement, I’d been contemplating whether I should go back to Cingular. The hassles of carrying over my number was probably the biggest thing to give me pause. Now, I don’t have to worry about that.
