Signage Silliness
More about signs: yesterday I was driving through a strip mall on the road that runs along the storefronts. Approaching a couple crosswalks, I noticed the first had “STOP” painted on the road, but there were no other signs anywhere around it. I didn’t see the painted word until I was no more than two or three dozen feet away. Once I passed it, I reached a second crosswalk. This one had a very prominent standard stop sign. But as I got close (and, yes, I stopped), I noticed the word painted on the road. It was identical in size to the “STOP” at the first crosswalk, but this one said “SLOW.”
Huh!?
