Rock and Roll

Talk about irony. In spite of having been to California and Washington numerous times, I have never felt an earthquake before. So you can imagine how surprising it is for me to have felt my first one while here in Florida!

That’s right. Around 11am this morning, a 6.0 quake occurred out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. This USGS link shows the location, but will probably on be visible for about a week from now.

What I find even more ironic is that the typical natural phenomenon of this country seem to be flip-flopped. We experienced an earthquake here where hurricanes are the norm. Meanwhile, over in the west where earthquakes are a frequent event, Hurricane John gave southern California a bit of a scare.
