Elbow Room

Just a personal note, it’s so splendid to enjoy space to play around with having upgraded my laptop’s hard drive from 60GB to 120GB—in addition to keeping the 60GB drive in an external enclosure. w00t!

I’m about to pick up some 100 GB drives at work and I think I’ll upgrade my work drive from 80 GB to 100 GB. But I already have a USB 2.0 300 GB external drive, so I’m not too worried about my space.

Yeah, space _was_ an issue for me. Plus, until I upgrade my laptop, or buy a PC Card adapter, I only have USB 1.1 speed—though I do have the Firewire jack, so I’m good there.

I wanted to upgrade it sooner, but the cost of 120GB laptop drives just seemed a bit too high, and the smaller drives weren’t sufficiently less expensive to justify what felt like not enough of an increase in capacity.

But I found a 120GB drive for just over $130—more my price range!

I’m kind of holding out for a 160GB SATA drive for my MacBook, but I’ll probably upgrade the RAM to 2GB first.
