James Spader absolutely cracks me up. Maybe you can’t stand Boston Legal, but you ought to be watching the show for no other reason than to bask in his wordsmithery (and yes, I think I just made up a word).
For example, this week’s episode had his character, Alan Shore, suffering from a condition brought on by anxiety where he occasionally uttered word salad.
What is word salad, you ask? The best way to describe it is to simply let you hear it.
Later in the episode, Shore admits that words are his friend and that, without them, he is lonely. Suffice to say it troubles him deeply to think that he might be losing the capacity to control the words that come out of his mouth.
As for Spader, one must stand in awe at his command of the tongue in being able to utter such jibberish—intentionally.
