Seahawks Play, Seahawks Lose

I was tempted to write this right after the Super Bowl, but I was curious to see other opinions before I say what I have to say. For those of you who aren’t in the Seattle area, people here are downright pissed about the officiating during the Super Bowl.

Even before the game was over and it was clear that the Seahawks were going to lose, I maintained that, in spite of the questionable calls and non-calls, they lost the game because of their own mistakes. Don’t get me wrong, I actually do like the Steelers. But the Steelers did not win that game by playing good football. The Seahawks simply played worse, which was very uncharacteristic of the rest of the season. If you went back and looked at the mistakes the Seahawks made, you’d realize the Steelers would have won even without the questionable calls. In fact, I would have rather the Seahawks won with the calls because it would have proven they were the better team.

I realize the monetary penalties keep the players and coaches from saying too much but, for the most part, the Seahawks know they screwed up and even admit that they played horribly. The good news is, most of the fans are loyal and willing to play the 12th man again next year. Watch out Miami!
