How To Unsubscribe
Today’s IotM award goes to the big MS itself. That’s right. MicroSuck.
First, have a look-see at their e-mail newsletters unsubscribe page.
Now, I’ll just let my friend, Jeff, take over with the punditry:
Ha ha, Microsoft’s got the Unsubscribe thing down. So who exactly would be “impersonating” me to sign me up or unsubscribe me from unsolicited email?
Ha ha. Stupid. I never had to give any info to get signed up in the first place. On top of that, they really ensure my trust in giving them my personal information by not providing an SSL certificate my browser recognizes when I visit passport.net.

Don’t you just love the give-me-all-your-info-so-I-won’t-contact-you business model? This, among other reasons, is why I’ve heard it said that Microsoft isn’t the marketing machine people believe them to be. They just stumbled ass-backwards into being the market leader. (Not entirely my perception, but somewhat)
