Dollars and Ouch
Somehow, I’ve managed to not do a lot of driving the past week or two. Consequently, yesterday was the first time I had to fill my tank since that price jump of about 20¢ or so per gallon.
$28.75!
For my current four-banger vehicle, I have never paid more than $23 and change. So that was a whole five bucks extra that was soaked into fuel.
I don’t even want to know how much it costs to fill my office’s Ford Excursion. I’m sure some of you SUV drivers look longingly at my paltry sub-$30 fill-up price and develop feelings of jealousy. And I also know there are some people who must drive large pickup trucks (e.g. independent contractor construction worker, etc.)
So I empathize for those must-drives, but for everyone else who drives a bottomless pit gas guzzler just because you want to—keep paying your $50, $60, $70, $80+ each time you fill up and stop sneering at me.

Washington is third highest in the country for gas prices behind Hawaii and California. The highest I’ve had to pay yet is $2.81 for low grade, but I’m sure I’ll be paying over $3.00 here very soon. At least my Corolla is good with gas.
