Setting Dates

Sometimes, there are some aspects of life one just can’t figure out. There are two people I know who divorced last year. Both of them remain very close friends of mine. For one of them, it’s the second divorce. As of now, both of them are seeing someone else and, as best I can tell (I could be wrong), they’re both either just past the casual dating stage, or very close to passing it. How do people do that? I, on the other hand, have only managed to arrange a date perhaps two times, maybe three, since I finished school and moved to Orlando in 1992—and it isn’t for lack of trying. My track record prior to that isn’t much, if any, better.

Lest anyone believe there’s a not-so-subtle subtext to this entry and that it’s not just a musing that will soon leave my mind as quickly as it entered, by all means challenge me on it.
