Quality Control
We do have Channel B data and although driven by a very poor and unstable oscillator, we may be able to get a little bit of data.
What I wanna know is, why are we spending millions (billions?) of dollars to launch poor and unstable oscillators into space?

Chances are, the secondary channel was probably meant for short distances, not the long distances back to Earth. So “poor” is probably only a relative term. Still, that sure was a costly mistake. I hope they fire the guy that was supposed to flip the switch.
