2,700-mile Mistake

I was at a local Pep Boys over the weekend for an oil change. I was somewhat surprised to see a young woman—I’d guess mid- to upper-twenties—among the rest of the typical-looking shop guys. She even ended up being the one doing the oil change on my car. Actually, she didn’t appear to be a stereotypical, tomboyish hellion or anything like that. She really seemed like a gal who just happened to enjoy working on cars, and you could kind of tell she enjoyed her work.

My admiration faded a bit, though, as I drove off after the service was done. My mileage was a little under 7,900. The reminder sticker she put on my windshield said I was due for another oil change at just under 8,200!

Okay, fine. Either her math isn’t all that good, or likes me and wants to see me back in the shop sooner! :-p
