Backing Up

Steven has put into words what I’ve not been able to express. Backing up your data has become more complicated, now that we’re dealing with music files, iDVD projects, etc.

So, how do you protect your data?

What's your backup strategy? (Choose two options for interval and preferred device.)
I anally copy my data once or more per day and keep those backups at a remote location.
Daily backup updates with periodic full backups.
Weekly backups.
A few times a month.
A few times a year.
Just important data whenever I think about it.
Backup? Who backs up?
Backup to CDs, DVDs, or other optical disc.
Backup to tape.
Backup to external hard drive.
Backup to remote server online.
I use other means of backing up.

For home use, the only thing I do important on my computer is save and edit digital pictures. I back those regularly up. Everything else I care about is generally able to be retrieved from other sources (such as my online bank). My work however is a much longer story. Let’s just say that if I lost my work computer, I’d hurt, but I’d recover. I plan on fixing that very soon.
