A City Is Calling Me
It must be a few years now that I occasionally see “HAMILTON, OH” show up on my caller ID list when I get home from work. Having ruled out that OH was a truncated first name of a person, it didn’t take long to figure out that Hamilton is a city in Ohio and lays claim to the 513 area code that I see in the phone number for this CID entry. Maybe Caller ID service in some areas assigns a city/state name to CID info instead of the caller’s name, but I doubt it. Thus, it appears that the City of Hamilton is trying to reach me. The whole city? City hall? The mayor?

I also got a call from 513-858-2250. I tried Refdesk and WorldPages reverse phone # look-up but they both said they couldnt find it. They also said any unlisted # wouldnt show up. Maybe the city of Hamilton is full of telemarketers……..lol.

Just got a phone call from 513-858-2250, used a Google search and found these messages regarding it. Since I’m on the national “no call” list, I find it more irritating to get these calls. Maybe it is a non-profit organization or a political one? They are exempt from the law, unfortunately.
I was “otherwise occupied” when they called, so I called them back. If you do, you will get a recording stating they are “Radio Ratings.” Apparently they do phone surveys regarding products, media, etc. If you listen to the entire speel, it does give you an opportunity to leave your phone number at the end so they can remove your phone number from their list. I did. They apparently are exempt from the “no call” law.
Hope this helps someone else.

I received a call from 513-858-2250 on my cell. I was driving and didnt have my head set on. I picked up the phone and said “I cant talk because I’m driving, is this important?” The woman on the phone said, “yes its important. We’re doing a survey on what radio stations people listen to in NY.” Didnt sound terrible important to me, so I hung up. I cant imagine why they thought the were important enough for me to risk getting a ticket or having an accident. Idiots!

My cell phone shows up as Silverdale, WA. I suspect you may have a person calling you from a cell phone.
